kevin.hooper
Any chance Hornby will release other versions of the new 2015 Britannia to include South Wales versions based at Canton?
walkingthedog
Why not just change the name/number or were they different to the other versions.
LCDR
Why not just change the name/number or were they different to the other versions. Most noticable variation between regional allocation of Britannias were the smoke deflectors, buffers and tenders, but I think Hornby have made these variations in the past. On the WR the handrails on the deflectors were removed and replaced by cut-out hand holds. This also occured on other regions but Swindon's were unique. Other variations include the height of the dome, and variations of lamp brackets, changes to front footsteps and pipework also occured.
walkingthedog
I did know about the smoke deflectors LC and they would be pretty easy to change, but anything else might start to get expensive.

VESPA
AH AH!!! Britannias. Yes Hornby have covered all the variations in the past. Get the correct model and then change the name and number with Modelmaster loco ID sets http://www.modelmasterdecals.com/BR_Britannia_462_G.php If you like Brits like I do then this site is worth a look. http://www.davidheyscollection.com/ pages 90.91 and 92 The new nameplates can be attached very well with PRITT or varnish (Matt). One of my favourites was "70019 Lightning" and I converted one to that from a donor loco. That was a Cardiff Canton engine that ended up near me for several months out of steam.
