Gordonvale
If standard track centres are 67mm why are double track centres 133 and not 134?
LCDR
It is probably a case of 'rounding', and perhaps a hangover from conversion from Imperial measurements many years ago. When Super 4 track was introduced by Tri-ang the large radius was 17.25 inches, and small radius was 14.625 inches, which was stated in the catalogue to be 438mm and 372mm respectively. This gives a difference of 2.625 inches which is 66.675mm give or take but a straight subtraction of the conversion gives 66mm. The geometry of the modern Series 6 'Set-track' is a direct copy of the old Tri-ang track so it is still Imperial, despite being quoted in metric. Once you start adding the track centres the error caused by rounding magnifies.
