Davekb
I have had several of my DCC programmed logos apparently lose their addresses, necessitating me to reprogram them? Any idea why this may happen, I use a Hornby Elite.
Rog RJ
Possibly due to very brief short circuits on the track, sometimes caused when passing through points.
poliss
How old are the locos? The original Hornby decoders had a tendency to revert to address 3 when encountering a short circuit.
2e0dtoeric
This should really have been posted in the DCC threads!
Icurus
As he is a first time poster, im sure we can give him some leeway until we jump on the 'you posted in the wrong section' bandwagon?
Yelrow
Icurus, quite right, i have raised this before. I frankly dont care where our new members post, as long as they continue to do so. Thats what we have Adam for. john
2e0dtoeric
Up to a point, I agree with you both - BUT - if nobody says they are posting in the wrong places - - - they will continue to do so!The DCC threads aren't hard to find - they are only the next on the list! poliss
I have noticed that some people say they have posted in the correct topic heading, but their posts end up in another section.

Davekb
Thanks for the suggestion, I'm sure now that you are correct. Just for the record for 'others' I posted this under general rather than DCC as it appeared to me to be for Hornby DCC.....not just any DCC systems. Rather an unecessary pendantic comment. walkingthedog
This has been discussed before. Maybe the title should just be 'DCC'. But then again in theory it is only about Hornby DCC as this is their forum, but things have become a bit more open recently where discussions about other makes are permitted. Adam to the rescue.........Hi Ho Silver.
Howbi
Sorry guys but this is getting silly..... 1 OP question gets 2 sensible on-topic replies then we have to wade through 8 posts discussing which section the OP should have used before we find the next on-topic reply. :-) HB
walkingthedog
True but if the sensible replies are at the beginning you dont have to look any further. You don't have to read any further if you're happy with the answer given. Your remark has caused the thread to get even longer....................so let's call this the end. poliss
How old are the decoders? Still don't know. The Hornby R8215 decoders were notorious for losing their address if they encountered the slightest whiff of a short circuit.
walkingthedog
They might not be Hornby poliss because the OP didn't put his question in the DCC section because he thought it was only for Hornby DCC.
