Go for it one of the best models made by Hornby.  I have 7 rebuilt scots&pats. Pretty much the same model.

You can sometimes get them a little lower but not much. And the newer R xxxx can be much more £130+  If I was in the need for more I would give it a go

It surely is a good "looking" model, with tons of detail. The website is kind of strange, because you have to submit an "order form", and they don't tell you the shipping on the site. Maybe I'll submit said form, and see if they email me back with the freight. That could be the deciding factor. I also hope it doesn't have a less-than-desirable decoder in it. Any of yours come "DCC fitted"? Oh, and thanks for the info!

I saw the full size Scots Guardsman on it's last official BR run back in the 60's. I have seen it several times since and on one occaision it was disguised as 46168 "The Girl Guide". I photographed it at Rainhill. I also have a very old photo that was given to me by an ex railwayman of the official naming of 46137 "The Prince of Wales's Volunteers (South Lancashire)" They were based ( the Regiment) not far from where I once lived. I offered that photo to the NRM in York but they weren't interested, even though I was giving it for free.

Only one was fitted I think it just has the standard chip in it. I tend to just fit basic chips in RTRs and only fit more expensive ones in my kits or scratch builds as the motors tend to draw a higher current. But they all work well enough for my needs. As for detail I took one apart to build British Legion.  Which is a mash up of a pat& scot and a scratch boiler smoke box. When I took the scot to bits I counted 80 separate parts before I got fed up.

Just for you, WW, here's my personal photo of the real "Scots Guardsman" at Carlisle 12th April last year when it pulled me and three other family members on the "Cumbrian Coast Express." A wonderful trip.

Graskie, I can't get your picture to load. Website actin' funny. I got an email back from Britannia Models telling me the shipping is gonna be $27 (Canadian= $20.00 American). That's a little steep! Only costs about $10 to get stuff from UK! Not sure I need another loco anyway.....

There's always room for a royal scot. But maybe not with a p+p at double the normal cost. Look else where if I was you

I see that several pictures are now appearing, WW. Here's another attempt at satisfying you. Hope it works this time. If not, it probably needs a spin doctor to sort it out.
