walkingthedog
When my laptop is slow it's usually due to Macafee doing a security scan.
Yelrow
Speed is usually due to other things running, or cluttered up. Do you regularly delete temporary files. This was the cause before, for somebody else. START %temp%, click on temp, if you have not done this before, you will have pages of them. Just delete all those it will let you, and the difference is amazing. john
Michael_A
Everything else runs fine. I think it's just the way it is as I installed it on a second laptop and it's exactly the same. Just have to be more patient I guess ;)
Chrissaf
Prehaps if you listed the RM functional operations again with times taken using a 'stop watch' then maybe we would have a better idea of what is normal and/or abnormal. What is slow to you might be normal to us. On the other hand your timings might show that your laptop is well off the normally accepted RM performance mark..Perhaps also state in addition to your stated Win 7.What processor? What RAM?If the RAM is particularly low, 2GB or less. Then the laptop(s) may be doing lots of 'PageFile' reading / writing. When the 'PageFile' is being used heavily it usually gives the impression that applications have stalled..Right Click the task bar, choose 'Start Task Manager', select the 'Performance Tab', then click the 'Resource Monitor' button near the bottom of the window. Now look at memory and CPU utilization when triggering the RM tasks in question. If the memory utilization is very high, this could indicate that you need more memory installed. Subject to your laptop hardware supporting it.
