dynax
Just wondered if Hornby have any future plans to bring out a tts version of this loco, cheers,Mike.
walkingthedog
I'll have a look at my crystal ball. mmm it's a bit blurred. You never know.

walkingthedog
I can't see why not, it's DCC ready, well mine is, the tender is empty, great place for a speaker.
dynax
most of the the sounds will be generic except for the whistles and maybe the steam sounds, please Hornby can you do one,Mike.
Graskie
I'm not bothered about them putting TTS sound in it, but it would be nice if Hornby could bring out a fine detail version of the Crosti. I saw all 10 of the real thing shedded at nearby Wellingborough when they were laid up in preparation for conversion to conventional operation. walkingthedog
I think the details is pretty fine Graskie.
Fazy
I'm more than happy with the detail of the Crosti. Looking at the model from a kit builder modeler I can see some room for improvement. Some lamp irons, better front steps could also be fitted but this could reduce turning curve! Both simple to do. Thinning/replacing the pipe work under the cab on the right but not essential. The breaks are missed but with the room available understandable. The one thing I did do was remove that handle on the top of the smoke box on the left side which shouldn't be there. 2e0dtoeric
I'd prefer a proper full-range sound chip installed, I'm not too keen on the TTS.
dynax
I'd prefer a proper full-range sound chip installed, I'm not too keen on the TTS.it would suit my budget as well as many others i imagine, not everyone can afford to have digital sound decoders fitted to their locos, the tts covers a basic need of sound that people can afford within reason, barring 4 of my stock all the rest are tts and 2 of the 4 i have without will be upgraded, namely the flying scotsman and tornado which were both part of sets,Mike. 2e0dtoeric
As what I wrote can be misinterpreted, I'd better clarify!I didn't mean that the TTS was no good, just that I (ME MYSELF I) don't like them very much! I've got one loco with it, Duke of G, and am not impressed with the TTS.
JeremiahBunyan
+1 for a TTS fitted Franco-Crosti 9F. Maybe that would be the reason for me to go DCC.
IntercityModelRail
Having so far resisted the temptation to buy a Crosti, I think that adding TTS would probably win me over. I can just imagine her roaring at full steam up the 1/48 with my vast collection of coal wagons in tow!
St1ngr4y
Three weeks ago I placed an advance order at eHattons for R3396TTS, and was told an expected delivery date of May 2016. Yesterday I received an email from them saying that "... the supplier suggests this item will arrive with us on or after Wednesday 30th November 2016" 🫨 Ray

Howbi
@Vulcannav.........you are more likely to get some answers if you post a new topic in the Hornby DCC forum with a question that describes your problem such as.....'Difficulty fitting TTS in Crosti 9F'.........HB

SteveM6
The TTS decoder plus a sugar cube speaker will fit in the Crosti if you stuff them both in the smoke box.
