The Doc Posted June 2, 2020 Author Share Posted June 2, 2020 Hornby does have the option to do all the different 'Bugatti' fronted LNER locomotives.They have the A4 of course,Then there is the possibility of the P2, they have a chassis to adapt,and let's not forget the B17/5 for the Great Eastern section, would fit on the Sandringham chassis would it not?And the rebuilt W1 is on the way. I think Gresley had a good look at the Flying Hamburger but maybe British diesel engine design may have been less advanced than German at the time. Given the difficulties of some of the first generation diesels in the Modernisation Plan (class 21 spring immediately to mind) he may have been wise to opt for steam.
