IntercityModelRail
With Bachman having just produced the C2 Atlantic, I thought that Hornby may want to follow on with the (beautiful) C1. What do we think?? oh, by the way yes, I am one for the Great Northen!
Postman Prat
Hi Just for the record the 1902 built Atlantic was the C1, the Small 1898 Atlantics (Henry Oakley) were C2 Personally I wouldn't buy (at todays prices) as I'm not overly interested in them. IntercityModelRail
Hi Just for the record the 1902 built Atlantic was the C1, the Small 1898 Atlantics (Henry Oakley) were C2 Personally I wouldn't buy (at todays prices) as I'm not overly interested in them. For the record (again) I believe that they both were classed C1 to start with by the Great Northen but once the LNER took over the small boilers became C2s and the (newer) 1902 Atlantics became the C1 which is why I have added Henry Oakley in brackets for the title. Confusing and I may be wrong!
Postman Prat
I've had a look at the LNER Encyclopedia and they confirm that you were 'dead right'. As you can tell 'I never knew that' so that's something I've learned today. A trap for the unwary (me)
