  1. Hi everyone, I admit that I am not good at handling small parts and always ask for Decoder fitting from the supplier whenever I buy new models .

I have been trying to fit a new decoder , powerbank and speaker to two class 43's . R3510 and R1230M ( Railroad ) , both came DCC Fitted .

Being larger models I thought these would be ok to fit the parts but am having great difficulty fitting it all in .

Are there any guides, links or videos to help me with me .

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

I have run both models without lights and body shell and delighted with the great performance

  2. Hi everyone, just come across this website link  via one of my facebook groups .

    http://bbcsfx.acropolis.org.uk

The link above  is to 16000 sound files

I carried out a quick easy search using Trains as the keyword and had 295 wav files returned  as the results .

    http://bbcsfx.acropolis.org.uk/?q=trains

Admittedly a lot of foreign train sounds are included but there is plenty of british train sounds including station announcements for all.

This will be useful to anyone wants new wav files and provided you are ok using a .wav editor you should get some good use of it.

Another search I carried out was the original posters serach of London Underground.

I suppose you can be as inventive as you like with searching to see all the sounds that you can obtain .

if any one finds more useful searches , they could post in this topic.

  3. I assume they will have different running numbers (and names?), KPJ, and, if not, would you consider changing one of them? Or wouldn't you be bothered?

At this stage , I would not be bothered . I still consider myself very much a beginner but had already thought that one day when I have more time ( eg when I retire in a couple of years time ) I would pluck up the courage to renumber one of them without making a hash of it !!

  4. What's your latest acquisition

I have just had 2 electric velux windows fitted in the loft so that I can see during the day without lights and not to have to sweat with the heat when ever the summer arrives. I have also had 5 new led spots fitted to

replace all the rubbish lighting I had fitted initially. The difference they have made already is fantastic.

In addition I have had a shelf built half way over my layout where I can easily use my Touchscreen PC and Rail master as well as the Elite controller

and see all my layout at the same time.
