Thank you LC&DR that is superb. I know power stations were built in the 1880's but was unable to find very much information on how wide spread electric power was in use during Edwardian times.

Good afternoon. I am building an Edwardian era layout but I cannot find any details of the style of lamps they would have used. Have looked at dozens of pictures but have found nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for your replies. I normally use IPA, I just did the white vinegar as an experiment, to see what would happen and to see if any body had tried it. I will not be using it on the layout.

Good morning I hope you are all keeping well in these trying times.
I left a piece of Peco 100 n/s track in a jar with white vinegar to see if it would clean the track. I left it soaking for a couple of months. After a couple of weeks it looked brand new it ended up turning green. My question is, is there any reason white vinegar should not be used to clean the track?

Thank you for your replies. The bag inside is fully sealed so it appears to be complete. He said it did not have any running gear. Had a read of the post on the rmweb, glad I don't intend to try to build the kit.

Good evening. My Godson has just aquired this kit and I'm trying to find out a bit about A K but without much luck. Does anybody know much about them.

I've built one in th eloft between the rafters and have had no temprature issues. I cross battened the ceiling joist with 4x2 timber and used 18mm flooring chipboard to strengthen everything, most had up there at one time was three children and three adults. Then used 3x2 cls to form a room with 20mm insulated plasterboard for walls and ceiling, used insulating foil as used for timber frame housing on the outside of the room. Have been using it for about four years now, though am still building the layout pretty much only scenery and buildings left to do Leave a small gap about 1mm between joins. Even during the snow at winter temprature raely dropped much below 10c. I only put heaters on when I'm actually up there. Maximum temprature when in use was 36c this year, no issue with track. Have put a bathroom/kitchen extractor up there but would suggest more than one ore a Velux window in the roof, which is what I should really have done. Wasn't going to buy any loco's until gote the main track laid but ordered Tornado and Olton Hall Thursday in the 50% sale and they arrived today.
