  1. It was my birthday recently and my parents bought me the 'Going Home' Train Pack (R3299). My LMS fleet is now four locomotives strong. 😀

I fitted the front NEM coupling to Ayrshire Yeomanry. I'm also considering fitting the front steps to her, but I have a second radius inner oval, which might be too tight for steps, and I'm not sure if I'll need to use poly cement instead of PVA to fit them.

  2. Hi all. I recently purchased the R1184 Western Express trainset, so I'm new to all this. Two suggestions I'd make are:

    1. Don't include a CD of Railmaster with a trainset box/standalone controller. Instead include a URL to the download page and the licence key on a bit of card. That way the Railmaster software will automatically be the most up-to-date version when first installed and thus hopefully reduce any issues caused by use of an old version. I mention this because the Railmaster version that came with my trainset was so out-of-date that it didn't even recognise the trainset or Ketley Hall on the initial installation.

    2. More generally, I feel Railmaster should be optimised for Windows 7 and later. Official support for XP ended in April 2014 and Vista will not be supported after 11th April 2017, so it's not worth developing for either OS at this stage. This will hopefully allow a reduction in the amount of guidance and not having to run the program with administrator priviliages.
