  1. Love these guesstimations!

Expecting to see (all newtools in 1/72)

    - Ju88A

    - B24 Liberator

    - HP Hampden

Hoping/Wishing to see (all newtools in 1/72)

    - Downscaled 1/72 Walrus

    - Hawker Tempest MkII and MkV

    - Spitfire Mk's I, VC and IX (yes it's time to re-tool them to today's standards) 😉

Dreaming of a 1/350 HMS Queen Elizabeth/POW and an all new tooled 1/24 Spitfire Mk IX 😎

The B-24 would do best as a Ford Nose H.

That was the quientessential variant of the AAF IN Europe, and the original equipment of most AAF Liberator groups that arrived.  The ones that did not come over with the H (7 groups) flew the H series in numbers as replacements.

  2. Most of the LEND LEASE B-24J to Britian came from CONVAIR Fort Worth (J-CF). Some were J-15- 35 similar to your old Airfix kit. The vast majority were J-40/-105 Emerson nose and the Hasegawa fit has the FORT WORTH style nose. (nose gear doors come down at block-70-CF) .

Thus you will find most RAF J series equvalents do not have the familar, high mounted pitot horns, only one low on the port side by the nose wheel.

I m not familiar with FAA, however some of the CC have British turrets in the nose of the earlier J . You could fash one of those from a D kit if you have the right RAF turret and even add RAF rocket stubs.
