  1. your not the only one.  i got mum to buy it as well.  i knew about thinners and suchlike but not until that day poly ciment.  but it is a pain.  you go to buy a big old gift set or sothing like that and................  ID pls, oh i'm under 18.  only 3 more years for me.  only 3 😉.

BTW. online there isn't as amy restrictions and all the age things tend to be tick boxes......

  2. Technically not an acquisition, but a commission for one of my Railway Clients - a rather big ship, 1/72nd Scale Flower Class Corvette arrived and a freebie for my stash a very old Airfix Short Stirling he's given me - the box is a bit battered but the contents are still sealed..

.. may well do a captured colour & decal scheme on it..

Other acquisitions have been, new bottles of Micro Sol & Micro Set, more upgrades for the Challenger 2 (wheels and suspension) and couple Pilot fine silver & gold paint pens.

Speaking of the Challenger 2, what's the Humbrol colour number for the Desert Sand?

    i think 56 rings a bell

  3. i'm personally quite happy about them but i do see where you are coming from about the 1/48  stuff.  (very good).  but having ventured into more AFV's recently i'm not to bothered.  even got plans for them already!

  4. i use a mix.  for some models i use acrylics (most matt models and some figures) and enamels for others.  i was doing a figure the otherday and i used a mix on the person.  i find pots of enamels tend to last longer e.g. i have had a 14ml pot of 19 red for therly 6 years now and it is just entering the to replace farily soon stage.

so the chioce is up to you and what your preferencis are.  i tend to use actylics becuse you can wash theh brushes in water.

each paint in my opinionn have there ups and downs so its up to the modeler
