  1. I wasn't going to do this, but here goes. People are allowed to put wrong questions in the wrong forum slot's, some people can kill a thread dead with one remark. Others can enthrall me with stupid remarks. MY LATEST ACQUISITION IS A 1941 MORRIS QUAD GUN TRACTOR. IN AS MANY BITS AS YOU COULD THINK POSSIBLE. MY JOB IS TO RESTORE TO IT'S FORMER GLORY, SHALL I USE DCC OR SOUND. NO I SHALL PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND HAVE SOME FUN WITH HER. SHE IS 12" TO THE FOOT AND GOING TO BE A CHALLENGE AND A HALF. I WILL LEAVE TO YOUR SQUABBLES, EVEN THE MOST RESPECT MEMBER ON THIS FORUM HAS MADE ME STAND BACK AND THINK REALLY.

Only other differences I know of are the cylinder drains and wire handrails on the smoke deflectors. Looking at the link Johnygee provided, both versions have molded hand rails on the smoke deflectors. If that is the case, WTD has the right idea, purchase the RR version, and detail if you so desire. The expensive version comes with wire handrails plus many other items for you to fit. Refer to my last post the two on the link provided, both are molded on the smoke deflectors.

  4. I think both PP and WTD, make valid points. From the photo's, apart from the axle boxes, and the odd moulded pipe, being painted, I cannot see any major differances. So it will have to be a look at each one, whilst on the shelf.
  5. NFSCARBON said: I've been on these forums too long PP. It appears that after reading so many of WTD's, Graskie's and your posts the nuttiness has rubbed off on me. Back on topic, I think Hornby's biggest problem is that they constantly have a backlog of delayed models every year. This makes it inevitable that newer models will either be delayed as well or dropped. Maybe come Xmas time rather than announce a raft of new models for the year, they should focus on clearing the backlog, then announce the new models with definite dates. It seems on a few internet forums Hornby is getting a bad name thanks to the delays.Hi NFS, I raised a similar point, on the wishlists thread. There are some items, we are still waiting for, or such a small run was made, all were sold before they hit the shelves. I can't be bothered to look back, but there were a couple of Maunsell brakes that didn't actually leave the lines. Hornby should keep the 2-Bil debacle, in mind. I don't mind waiting, for an item, but at least make enough, to go round.
  6. Could be worse, they could have done Brief Encounter, all that lovely LMS stock, yum. Mind you, would be some what expensive.
