Cromer
Could we have an explanation of how moulds are made. I've had vague references to 'spark erosion of steel', but I'm sure there's much more than that. Is there any actual mechanical cutting. How is it ensured that the steel isn't burned, how are the different surface finishes made, how is the alignment of the two halves ensured, how long does it take to cut so much etc, etc
DavidJC
Seconded. I don't know how much of it would be subject to 'operational information' which I understand, but I too would love to know how they make modern moulds. Can we have a detailed, where possible, overview of how drawings are produced to how steel is cut to how the plastic is injected then ejected?
