rrichpigg
Brands Hatch was my local race track back in the 60s and 70s, driving under the Thames from Essex via Dartford Crossing to watch the racing. In the 70s I purchased a MK 2 Cortina 1600 and a friend had a Mk1 Lotus ( Ban the Bomb rear lights ). Our weekends were spent driving all over Essex and Kent, those were the days. To this day I have a Clean Driving Licence and continue driving. Scalextric came into our lives with rubber track and controllers that got hot after a few races and no magnets to keep you on the track. My grandson will soon be learning to drive on this old set, so you guys at the test track can carry on developing for the future. Just for the record I have a Williams Renault No 6 ( C.584 ) with Magnatraction and Eagle Good Year Tyres in the box with the price at the time of £ 22.50. Keep up the good work Hornby. PS - I have a train set too!Hope this fits in with your Forum?
