Shadow.Monk
I have always wondered that. One of my local model shops say that he was only out for a year. So if this is true then I am guessing only 1000?

the.bloke.in.the.windmill
and i dont get why they dont come out on time? are they even made yet?
Shadow.Monk
I heard from a source several months ago that they were all stuck on a ship in China. Hornby says that they will get them in stock on the 25th June, so I shall assume that they have been made already.

Shadow.Monk
I am not sure weather it was true though :PI hope there are differences too, as this will make the first gen (in my opinion anyway), keep some of its high value and special.I am hoping that there will be grey wheels on the new edition :D
the.bloke.in.the.windmill
hmmm only thing is the pic they show seems to be the origional pic of the first one
Shadow.Monk
True, maybe they didn't feel as though it was relevant to make a prototype of Spencer for this year as one was already done back in 2008. Having said this, Hornby may not think it's relevant to edit anything on the new version!
Shadow.Monk
Another thing I noticed is that on the Bay there are 2 sellers who are selling a Spencer Tender each. Won't this mean that the first gen Spencer will be even more rare due to not being boxed/complete?

The shop emailed me saying that it was a website error and that Spencer wasn't actually in stock so they refunded my money back :( :( :( But I still have the new limited edition preordered so I don't mind too much, massive shame though. Atleast I still have the Sodor Mail Wagon sent to me :D Unfortunately it's not turned up yet. I have gone to visit my girlfriend at Uni in another city so I've not been home but apparently 2 parcels have arrived. I think one is the original cream cattle wagon (boxed), and a brand new and boxed Hornby Duck which I found online :D
Shadow.Monk
Still expecting the Sodor Mail Wagon, Percy, and Toby so it could be any of the 5 models that have arrived. Hopefully have all 5 items at home by the end of this week :)

I don't mind the price label being removed and causing a little tear because to me, it's the model itself that's important. I am still at Manchester, will be returning to Sheffield tomorrow night so hopefully the Sodor Mail wagon would have arived by then.

Actually it looks as though no price sticker was on in the first place so I am happy.Anyway, with 2 weeks left to go until Spencer is apparently in stock at Hormnby, who's excited? :D
Moomintroll
Might be a typo or oversight, but did anyone else notice that while both Spencers coaches made the 'upcoming release' section in the latet Hornby magazine, Spencer himself didn't. I'll put money on a Q3/Q4 release...
Shadow.Monk
First it was 7th May.Next is was 25th June. Now Hornby have informed me that it is early July.
Moomintroll
It's a very bad way to run a business, has anyone ever pre-0ordered a hornby item and it arrived by the time Hornby said it would? I haven't. Reading their latest RNS it's obvious Hornby and Scaletrix aren't their priorities for the moment.I'm a seller of July and buyer of Nov. This is almost exactly how Murdoch player out...
