Rana Temporia
Does anyone know if the small nuts that hold the valve gear onto the axle of early Jouef and playcraft locos are available as spares. If not does anyone know the size and type of thread? Idoubt they are a BA imperial thread but more likely to be a metric one.
Rana Temporia
I have used a different sourc who let m know the nuts are 1.6mm and easily available. Another fully working loco! Also, for anyone with a jouef loco that has a broken or slipping drive belt I have used modern Hornby traction tyres as replacements, they just need to be the same size. It is better to get a Playcraft or early Jouef loco as spares or repair and replace with the geared drive but most of the rubber band ones will work with a reasonable load.
