rgmichel Posted June 15, 2011 Share Posted June 15, 2011 The live steam locomotive are such wonderful beasts, it would be a shame if they were not perpetuated by Hornby. This is especially true because of the high prices these are commanding on ebay and other vendors. There are so many things that can be done with live steam, not only by building scale models of other steam locomotives, but by refining and developing the control systems, such as exploring what can be done with DCC control, and compatibility issues with electrically driven locomotives and layouts. rgmichel Posted June 15, 2011 Author Share Posted June 15, 2011 My own first wish list is for live steam versions of all the big passenger locomotives, such as the GWR Kings and Castles, which should also enable Royal Scots Jubilees and Patriots, etc. I am sure the remaining 4-6-2s are possible such as the Coronation Scots, Bullied Pacifics, Britannias, Clans, etc. I can see how it would be tough to make a live steam 0-6-0 for example.
