 The traction tyres (rubber wheel traction thingies) may have become stretched over time and are not sitting tightly on the wheel treads. You therefore may need to approach an N gauge specialist dealer to try and find out if these are still available, and fitting them will also require some skill as it may be necessary to dismantle the locomotive.

i have an older aronold n scale 262 steam engine & tender #23 105, its red and black. seems it had rubber wheel traction thingies on it (1/2 there?) (looke like), Anyway it still runs but seems bouncy and i wanna fix it up, can someone help out? Thx
