Reyna-770212
Hello,My 10 year old son has built the Golden Hind kit and is ready to cut out the sails. It looks as though one small mistake and the whole thing will be ruined. Would you suggest just cutting them carefully with a small Stanley knife or are there any special Airfix tricks or tips that would help him please? Ratch
Scissors work perfectly well, or if you're happy with him handling them, Swann Moreton No. 11 scalpel is very sharp and requires a steady hand.

peebeep
You can remove vacform parts by scoring around the perimeter of the part with a sharp blade. I wouldn't use a Stanley knife, a craft knife or scalpel would be better. Once scored you can bend the part and it should come free from the sheet. It might need deburring, a fine grit nail file will do the job. Do everything nice and gently.

Steve-812494
Nice work Ratch, where did you get the men? I have a wooden river boat to build and I want to put people on it.
Ratch
The figures are by Red Box and I probably bought them from Drum & Flag.
Satoriosaka
It can be useful to make the sails out of fabric. I did it like that.
