geoff1707820983 Posted October 14, 2022 Share Posted October 14, 2022 As an ex Safety ( Survival ) Equipment Fitter in the RAF, I would like to comment on the colours for the pilot in the new Meteor Mk8 model stage 78, as they are wrong and the correct colours should bee from the head down Mark 1 Helmet Silver not White. the Flying suit RAF Blue Gray not Green. the Life Jacket Mk 4 Yellow not Green.If anyone from the Airfix Technical team read this please take note the overall colours of all flying suits and life jackets did not change until the late 1960's early 70's Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

geoff1707820983 Posted October 15, 2022 Author Share Posted October 15, 2022 Hi RatchThe period you are for the colours of the flying suits was mid 1950's to1968 approx (look at colour films made by the MOD at that time of Fighter and Bomber crew's scrambling) It was at the time when strike command was formed that the change of colour started to appear.
