Reeves Oil Colour Burnt Umber heavily thinned with white spirit was applied as a wash. I then masked the windows and a coat of Vallejo 27651 Polyurethane Acrylic Varnish was airbrushed on.

Into the weathering stage now. I mixed some powders with white spirit and shot the mix through my cheap airbrush. It has little control and I may have overdone the mud and dust

Also messing around with possible presentations

I plan a couple more washes

I also intend to make some terrain on the plinth

I knocked this up yesterday morning.

I used DAS air-drying clay for the first time to form the terrain.

It was painted with a mix of Winsor & Newton water-mixable colours, spread with PVA and various Hornby railway scatters and natural detritus spread over the surface,

The vegetation is from Army Painter, Javis and Woodland Scenics. I found the sign amongst my spares.

The final touches were to scratch and add wing mirrors, and then fix them to the bases. I re-cycled one base, the set only just fits onto it - rather compact!

The other two are as suggested previously, in convoy.

My crew were incorrectly positioned, so it had to be put right.

No.1 is pointing, No.2 is ready to ram the charge home, to the right of the breech.

No.3 is seated and performs the aiming and firing. Nos 4 & 5 load and dispose of the spent cartridges.

The chap in the red cap is a Hussar, and the one beside the nearside door is looking out for enemy aircraft.
