81F
I want to start replacing some of my ROCO type couplings that I've used to close couple several rakes of coached with Kadee couplings. Starting with my lit Pullmans. However does anyone know what size Kadee to use?The tightest radius on my layout that these will go round is the peco medium radius which I think is around 3' or 900mm.I'm also considering doing the same for some Maunsel coaches. Many thanks for any help. ellocoloco
Bear in mind you do not get close coupling with a Kadee in the same way as a Roco close coupler gives. If your coaches have proper kinematic NEM 362 mounts stick with Roco. If not, the NEM Kadee couplers are 17-20, Go for a larger one (19 or 20) as Kadee's allow bufferlock. Bulleidboy
I agree with ellocoloco - I use Kaydee 17-20. You can also mix them up - you might have a "19" on the tender, but fit an "18" on the end of a coach rake. I have had bufferlock using Kaydees - quickly remedied by changing one coupling.
