Alan Hamilton
In the VE Day sale I bought one of the bundles to share with my grandsons. The bundle contained the two D-Day forts and a box full of soldiers landing craft and a jeep. The two forts I rememembered from my childhood as giving many happy hours of play that inclided shelling my brothers attacking forces with little plastic shells.Today when we opened the boxes, imagine my horror when I discovered that the guns are disarmed! The shells are still there on the sprues but no spring loaded firing mechanisms. We still had a lot of fun because I rolled out my old Britains and Crescent artillery. But not nearly as much as I was expecting.A great pity. Now where can I get the firing mechanisms?
GeoFF03
Probably not too hard to make your own. A lenght of old cycle spoke with a nut screwed on the end, plus an old biro spring should do the job (RC model push rods are usually fashioned from cycle spokes). Harold Smith
Suspect that modern OTT Health and Safety law is behind that. Apparently if a child pokes a little plastic shell in their mouth, that's the fault of the manufacturer these days...

I will be trying to make three (one for each gun) though.
mike_arnold
I had the same shock at seeing the "disarmed" guns & has already said, its most probably a Health and Safety thing like wearing goggles when you play conkers(!) H& S sometimes takes the innocent fun out of things!
