jopres57
Can't believe that after 50 years service there is still no decent plastic kit in any scale of the FV 432.
Ratch
Is it a car?Is it a ship?Is it an aeroplane?I can believe it because I've never heard of one!
Simon Norton1707820138
I'd like to see an FV432 as well. Only one I've ever seen was the Cromwell Miniature resin kit in 1:76. Which was nice but expensive and the mould was showing it's age 20 years ago.The basic APC was also the basis of numerous engineer, command and experimental MICV and ATGW vehicles so there are alot of conversion possibilities.Ratch - the FV 432 is the main tracked APC for the British Army since the cold war it is the British equivalent of the M113. It has been mostly replaced by Warrior in the IFV role but 1100 including the specialist variants are still in service. It was sometimes referred to as the Trojan. The upgraded version is the BulldogCold war AFVs have been mostly ignored by the main kit manufacturers. A few tanks and Revell has done a lot of German Vehicles but apart from the Esci and JB models M113 I'm hard pushed to think of any APCs from the post war era. The CVR(T) range are just begging for a release.
Ratch
Thanks doc, AFVs tend to need a bit of excitement, so were they involved in any wars or escapades?
Braille Dave
They were a fact of life in the cold war- everywhere you saw the British Army you saw a couple of those, but they were also in Gulf War 1, Bosnia, Kosovo, Gulf War 2, Afghanistan, basically everywhere the army were having it large.... jopres57
The 43 would be a small kit in 1/72 or 1/76 scale. An idea could possibly be to have a box with two basic chasis and parts for different versions ( ie 432, 438, 434, 432 with rarden turret or cymbeline radar), with the choice to build two complete kits from the different options. appy5437
I'd love to see one in 1/35. ive done the resin one from accurate armour, great kit but expensive!
Simon Norton1707820138
While I'd like to see one in 1:76. I think it's very unlikely. But Airfix have been focusing on 1:48 for their Modern AFV releases over the last few years so a release would fit nicely in that rangeAlong with a Challenger 2, AS90, Scimitar, Sabre, Stormer..... Harold Smith
I'd like to see it in 1/76th or 1/72nd, but any recognition for it would be nice, and the upgraded Bulldog version would sit well with the other ultra-modern British vehicles in 1/48th.BTW, Trumpeter also do a large range of Cold War AFVs in 1/72nd, including M113s and some quite esoteric ones.
