1/32 cars

When I see old 1/32 Airfix car kits from late 60s/early 70s being offered for crazy prices on ebay, I always ask myself why do not they make more reeditions. Some kits have been already made again like MGB, TR4A, Aston DB5, Beetle, Escort Mk.I, etc., but I am sure that most of the 1960s and 1970s cars would be a success today when these cars already reached yountimer status. So why they do not offer more? Maybe the molds have not survived... Definitely I would be delighted to read ybout a reedition of Cortina Mk.I, MG1100, Capri Mk.1, Zodiac, Viictor 2000 Estate, etc. I am sure Iwould not be alone ;-)

You are definitely not alone! Please seek out the other threads. These models were often great and in some cases, versions were made for the U.S. market with separate "chrome" sprues fir the bumpers, wheels and so on because customers expected such things. There has been debate about whether some tools were either poorly stored or crudely and perhaps irreversibly re-worked to make some pretty crass "custom cars" back in the 1980s, but we await some more definitive information from our friend Mister Admin on what is realistically possible.
