What is the difference?

Recommended Posts

well sometimes not a lot

Railroad is the cheaper (sometimes) models made for the general train set gender (toy)
the other are more detailed (uptodate ) generaly more expencive and built to finer standards
for the model rail enthusiests
having

said that there are some very good Railroad items
so its realy up to you what you use
but the railroad items usualy have the old D type couplings
and do not always cohabit very well with the modern small couplings

Hi sampope,
I don't see what this thread has to do with the Hornby Railmaster Softwhere but scince it is here it will have to stay unnless the Admin moves it.
The Premium Hornby range are highly detailed (Some of them!) and you can exspect a great

detailed model.
The Railroad models are designed for Youger modelers as they don't have much detail to break on them. This also makes them very cheap, so they are also ideal for people with a low budget. They are also good models to practise detailing on

as if you mess up, they are cheap to replace.
However, some railroad models like the 9Fs, A4s and The GWR County class do have quite a bit of detail on them.

I think the Railroad models are some of the Old Lima and Tri-ang models which Hornby have

taken over and used, the steam locos however have been converted to loco drive.

Hope this helps,

Jacob
