Pendolino DCC Problem

Hi, I've just purchased a DCC ready Virgin Pendolino set for my son :-) for christmas, I've fitted a decoder to the main engine (excuse my ignornace with terminology) I've not fitted one to the rear car, the whole train pulses whilst sat on the track the

DCC Select display flashes what I best describe as the figure 11 sliced in half, I've left the balnking plug in the rear car, do i need to remove this? and install another decoder? Help and advice greatley appreciated

Yes, both the front and rear power cars need a decoder if you want both the front and rear lights to work properly, otherwise remove the blanking plug from the rear car.

Brill, thanks so much, can I ask another, I have section of track only small that the train slows almost to a stop on, I've tested the power on the rails and it's ok, any idea?

Try running an extra set of power feeds to that section.

I've linked the whole track with powerclips is that the problem?

Clean the rails with a track rubber, check fishplates are tight and fitted properly. Sometimes they can go under the next rail without you noticing.
If you know how to solder, add power feeds to more sections of track.
