dylan_thomas
Hello!Does anyone know if SCX cars are compatible with standard Scalextric track?
alan_west
They are - and run on 'Classic' track better than many other brands. However, they do have different characteristics - personally I don't like the motors (they need more running in than any others and are slower) and the tyres are not so good as others. Their lights are excellent, although prone to 'blowing' on a Scalextric powered set up. Not so easy to convert to digital as some other makes. I've always been more keen on the rally cars they do.... Andy P.
SCX basically used the same tooling for tarck and car guide blades as Hornby Scalextric up until a few years ago. In fact SCX is sold as Scalextric in Spanish-speaking countries. You can use any car brand on Scalextric track but if you have "classic" track it is about 3-4 mm shallower and you ma need to trim the guide blade so the cars don't bottom out.
