SRmike
I have a modern DCC ready class 31 loco. I run it on a dc system with many older non DCC ready locos. Can I fit the TTS sound add on that has recently been made available?
walkingthedog
I don't think TTS sound will work on DC. I have a DCC sound loco (Bachmann USA) that has sound that works on DC but with limited sounds and they can't be switched off.
SRmike
I realise that I would need to get it set it up on a DDC system. I am a member of a model railway club and will ask the DCC guys for their advice next week.
Fishmanoz
The answer is yes but the sounds will only work on DCC. You can continue to run it on DC with the decoder fitted and no sound.
Chrissaf
The extract below taken from a TTS equipped loco datasheet.. .This is not the first time the TTS sound via DC question has been asked. I appreciate that the question has already been adequately answered by others. But sometimes question asker's don't believe the answers until they see the evidence with their own eyes. Some DCC Sound decoder brands DO support 'sound on DC', (Loksound for example) but NOT the Hornby TTS.
