Royboy43 Posted October 19, 2017 Share Posted October 19, 2017 Hi I am new to dcc And have fitted 3 R 8245 decoders to ringfield motor driven engines 2 run ok but the 3rd starts and stops very abruptly can I reset the decoder back to factory settings and start again. 96RAF Posted October 19, 2017 Share Posted October 19, 2017 Depending upon your controller you can reset any Hornby decoder by writing value 8 to CV8. An Elite or eLInk can but a Select can't. Abrupt stops and starts can then be tamed by increasing the value in CVs 3 and 4 (acceleration and decelleration). This simulates overcoming inertia as if you were controlling a heavy train - i.e. slow to speed up and slow to slow down. Rob Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
