welsh dragon
Hi, I have a DCC layout 4ft*8ft I also have a bus main running beneath the board. I would like to install Hornby R8243 surface mounted point motors I shall need 10. The decoder I have been trying to get is the Hornby R8247 Decoder but on the back of surface mounted points motor package it says to use the HORNBY R8216 Decoder. I am aware that none of these seem to be available at this present time but could you please explain to me the difference, is one a newer model? I would be most grateful for any advice please.Kindest regards. welshdragon
poliss
The R8247 is the newer decoder which can do more things than just operate points. The R8216 decoder was mainly for use with the Select and has been discontinued.
Rog RJ
R8247 is an updated version which can power points or accessories with conventional motors or lights. It is also easier to program with the Elite.
