udimo
I have a ZTC 511 controller which I use for installing sound decoders.I have been told by timetunnelmodels that the Controller is not compatible with the Hornby TTS R8109 decoder as i have bought 4 of these and had to send them back as they malfunctioned. We have installed over 100 chips with the 511 with no problem. So is this true then???
Rog RJ
See my reply in this thread https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/forum/class-31-tts-and-ecos/?p=1The same problem with the TTS decoders may well be affecting the ZTC.
Fishmanoz
Put simply, the decoders aren’t faulty as such but need to be returned to Hornby for a free firmware update. This is reported across quite a number of forum topics and non-Hornby controlllers.
96RAF
There is discussion on one of the other forums (RM Web from memory) about the 511, which it appears can be updated to a 611. This may improve your chances of working TTS decoders - in addition to the TTS fix recently brought in. What does ZTC say about it, as I have found some retailers may not be fully knowledgable about all the products they sell and can inadvertently lay the blame in the wrong place. Although in this case you dealer is saying it is the controller, even though you say you have worked successfully with many other decoders.Rob
