megamarvin
Hello all Wondering if anyone can help with a newbie question. I have to rewire a Maserati as the connection to the braid contact keeps cutting out. I have the parts but as this is the first time I've done it I'm after some tips and general advice. In particular, any tips for removing and replacing the heatshrink sleeve? I'm being cautious as the wiring to the lights is extremely thin. Also any pointers to web tutorials would be really handy. Thanks all

megamarvin
Hi Andy thanks for the reply. Not a heatsink - the heatshrink wrap which protects the wiring where the two lighting wires and the contact wire meet. I have to replace the thich black contact wire. Any tips?/media/tinymce_upload/3fc0eb20e8715a675030778453b2880e.jpg
Andy P.
Any similarly gauged wire is fine. Use a very sharp knife/scalpel to remove the shrinkwarp and replace it with fresh. If you area soldering novice maybe ask a friend to help get the braid soldered to the braids.
