frazzle
I am interested in getting a really tiny train, https://www.hornby.com/shop/locomotives/steam-locomotives/r3024-br-0-4-0st-pug-0f-class-early-br/ and trying to make it DCC. Some manufacturers make very small decoders, though they tend to allow no more than 1 amp. Do you think these smaller decoders would run this tiny train ok? Also, am i wasting my time or is there enough room if im careful to fit a micro decoder in there?Paul

poliss
The Hornby R8249 decoder is a 500mA with a peak of 1Amp. You'll find that the tiny decoders are usually 1Amp with 1.25Amps peak.
