frazzle
I understand that we use droppers so that if/when the rail joiners deteriorate over time, we still have a good current to the whole track.Does anyone know the kind of time these joiners are liekly to last though? If were talking 5 years plus, then i wont bother with the huge hassle of the droppers, but if were talking 6 months plus, then i can see its a 'must do' job.I know then dont all suddenly go at the same time, but does anyone have a rough idea?Paul
poliss
Rail joiners might fail on the first day if the rails aren't put together with great care. Look at how many people complain that the locos on their new train set have stopped moving. 90% of the time it's because of loose rail joiners. FinnerZ
Also, if you have a large layout, there are a lot of places for small amounts of resistance between pieces of track to build up, and the point clips aren't enough on a large layout either (in my opinion).
