Chrissaf
Try a different R8249 decoder, it may have a faulty motor output.
Chrissaf
I have Flying Scotsman which runs fine under DC control with a blanking socket fitted. With a R8249 decoder fitted I can read all the CV's on the programming track but as soon as I try to run on the main track my e-Link keeps reporting a short curcuit. Has anybody got an answer to my problem?
Chrissaf
The 8 pin plug on the R8249 decoder may be pushed too far into the socket and the motor pins might be shorting on any metal chassis parts underneath......just something else to check for. 96RAF
I would examine the underside of the socket for a solder bridge. The short Ack sent by the decoder during programming may not flash up as a short but when continuous power is applied the fault shows up.Rob
