paul.b
Hi all just a quick question I`am about to wire up some point motors (s**p pm2 ) I have found a 50m roll of 1.5mm 5amp 3 core flex cable which is 16/0.2 cable could i use this for point motor wiring this would save me a few quid on point motor wire. the points will be connected to ads8sx point decoders thanks

Chrissaf
Not ideal, but I agree....should be OK....try and keep the wiring runs short..PS - It is perfectly OK to mention the motors as being SEEPs....
paul.b
Thanks for the quick replies, the longest run from seep to decoder it about 6ft plus the flex will keep all the wires tidy I have 30 odd points to wire up so using the flex will save a good few pounds to get other bits i need .this is the biggest layout i have built its 10ft x 10ft the track, electrofrog points, point motors and point decoders has cost near £800 so far, so every pound saved will help. thanks paul.. 2e0dtoeric
In the interests of economy, I suggest you do not use the single-core 'bell' wire. This stuff can be brittle, and having been subject to flexing or vibration, it can snap inside the plastic sheath, and leave you hunting for hours for the fault! 96RAF
Eriche did say it was flex 16/0.2.
Fozzy Bear
1.5mm wire can handle 10 amps so it should be brilliant around a layout. A 6ft run will be nothing.
