Elliot1982
Hi My TTS was making a funny noise i.e. The sound was playing like the current to the speaker wasn't greatSo opened her up to find the decoder getting extemly hot..... It all went wrong when I was taking her off the sidings to the main track over points, could it have short circuited? And.... . It's broken!?Thanks
96RAF
A short circuit can damage any decoder.Try a full reset for now by writing value 8 to CV8 if your controller supports that functionality. If no improvement then you could try contacting Hornby to see if you can get it replaced under warranty.Rob
Elliot1982
Reset but no difference, I think it's been cooked. The problem I've got is I extended the speaker wires so technically I've damaged the original product
Chrissaf
Since extending the speaker wires is documented in the TTS decoder instructions, and assuming that you have extended them using the method exactly as documented, then I would think it is still covered under Warranty. On the basis that you have adhered to the Hornby provided instructions.
Elliot1982
Yep, extended from the speaker as described. Best to call them, what do they normally require, sent it back etc? It was purchased via eBay model scenery.
