Chrissaf
Good news newrail, Since you have an Elite controller you can reset the loco decoder to the factory default by placing the loco on your attached Elite programming track and writing value 8 to CV number 8. Be aware that as well as setting the DCC Address to 003, it will also reset any other CVs that have been modified by the previous owner/user to the original factory default settings..See Pages 36 / 37 of the Elite manual for writing CVs..Writing 8 to CV8 is a common 'reset' method across virtually all decoder brands, not just Hornby......it is a 'standard'. 96RAF
Aside from setting any decoder to default settings as described above, you can also just give it a new address of your choice, using your Elite.Rob

Chrissaf
To the best of my knowledge CV8 being used as the reset CV is not documented in the manual. It is just one of those undocumented features that users pick up information on along the way..Proves one thing though, you now know how to use the Elite to write a CV and more importantly that it works. Lots of posts on here where users struggle to successfully complete this basic activity.
