cruiser Posted January 15, 2012 Share Posted January 15, 2012 hi guys posted this in on end of someone else's query but it seems to have been missed so have reposted again wondering if i need to semd back to hornby or whathi am having problems with a sound chip too sometimes just makes a click or else works for a few seconds then stops a bit then works again anyone any ideas ? have reprogrammed loco a few times to see if that would help but its always same.this was the hornby digital class 50 illustrious its a very heavy train for a model when i first got it it kind of squealed a bit but is quieter now since being run in but is very slow to start with when first used bought less than a year ago so still under warranty if a can find reciept Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It could be a dry joint on the circuit board, or pick-ups not making proper contact or something else. You could try turning DC off in CV29.
