collectors Posted June 5, 2018 Share Posted June 5, 2018 Hi, i have a DCC Bachmann #29202 Whitcomb 50-Ton Center-Cab Diesel on a on30 scale that is sound ready & has a 21 pin connector for this. Can a Hornby 8pin sound cards be made to fit fit?? Or any suggestions to adapt, as the Hornby seems a lot more economical as i have a few locos to adapt. I am also using the Horby DCC Elite control. The speaker will need to remain directly wired to the Hornby TTS decoder. If you read all the posts in the linked thread above, you will see that space availability in the loco to accommodate this adapter may be an issue, in which case consider the alternative adapter arrangement described below..The link to the ESU 51967 Adapter board has been removed in this edit. After a closer review, the 21 pin connector on the board was male and not female. Thus not suitable for the required application. However, because it is designed specifically for the 8 pin decoder, it does not extend the 21 pin speaker connections. The speaker will still need to be directly wired to the TTS decoder.. They did swap it eventually.
