81F
Does anyone know what the factory default accelleration/decelleration settings are on Hornby decoders particularly the Castle sound variety as I want to start playing around with them but do not want to resort to resetting the decoder (setting CV8 to 8) if I decide things were best left. Many thanks
96RAF
TTS decoders have a default accel/decell value of 15. This is to ensure the chuff/coast sequence is correct. It is spoken to in the manual. Also in the manual is the dual reset. CV8 to value 5 for a sound only reset or value 8 for a full loco and sound reset. There is also a start delay setting which is default at 2.5 seconds (range 0-7 seconds) to allow the cylinders to clear before movement starts. Note that altering the BEMF on a TTS steamer will also affect how it chuffs and coasts, not the synch rate but the point at which the chuff sound files switch from one to the next and the load at which chuff/coast cuts in and out.
