Length 540 feet, beam 62 feet, about 8.500 tons, 30 knots.

The hull is a complete scratch build out of blue-tak and various thicknesses of cardboard.

Guns 8 x 6" dual purpose (8x1), 16 x 40mm AA (2 x 4, 4 x 2), 18 x 20mm AA. (2 x 4, 10 x1)

/media/tinymce_upload/aa40c6d5ca71cd07bcc66a6f6e06af44.png Hello Ossian. Thanks for your note.

Yes twin 5.25s would be nice, but they are all tied up in my other ships at present and none to spare.

Probably HMS Effingham is the best example I know of a cruiser with an approx 60 foot beam with single centerline turrents. Picture enclosed. That is going to be my next scratch build.

Blue tak of plastecine is good for scratch building, especially for anti-torpedo bulges and such things, or where one  is trying to widen a hull.

Kind regards

Richard

Ah yes, the Hawkins class -  I always felt they had a very WW1 look to them (not surprising since IIRC they were all laid down during that war - and they seemed undergunned for their size, although only one gun short of the County class CAs

The  triple superimposed mounts fore and aft which must have done horrible things to their stability too.

Obviously a lot is personal taste, but if you can temporarily fit your cruiser with twins (maybe even off a Tribal) I would love to see the look
