dcc problem

I have a hornby pendolino on select 15-30-03 that goes forword but not in reverse ,if i physicaly turn the loco around it will run.

It seems like brake is on when trying to go in reverse.

It was running great for months.then suddenly plays up.

help appreciated

Any ideas whats happening

Factory fitted decoder or did you fit it and if so which one.

When you say it runs when turned round do you mean it then runs both ways or it still only runs forwards.

it was a factory fitted decoder,and it still only runs one way when turned around ,all track is nickel and there are no points .

When in reverse, can you hear the electric motor whizzing?

If you can, it may be that it has become dislodged from it's mountng bracket, so the worm gear is pushing itself out of engagement in that direction, but going forwards it doesn't.

If you can't do it yourself, take the motor unit back to the shop and ask them to check it for you. It may still be under guarantee, you don't say how long you've had it.

the motor runs when i slightly lift it up ,when i put wire direct to wheels motor runs forword and reverse but when on track it judders in forword and comes off track

You are now describing a totally different problem!

So - which is it - the loco won't move in one direction - or it goes in jerks and derails?

If you give duff information , you get duff advice!  😛

sorry for confusion ,but thats what was happening ,first it would not go forword,then it attempted to move in jerks and came off rails now gremlins have dissapeared it runs in reverse fine but forword its still running but jerky.

Hopefully  its sorted itself out.
