Class 20 Diesel - get it running

I'm new to DCC .have the class 20 diesel engine want to get it to run on my hornby elite control

Can you be a bit more specific with your question.

Is it that the Class 20 loco doesn't have a DCC decoder fitted and you want to know how to fit one?

or

The Class 20 is already DCC decoder fitted, but you want to know how to configure the decoder using your Elite?

or

The Class 20 is already DCC decoder fitted and configured with an address, but you want to know how to use the Elite controller to operate it?

Plus it would be extremely useful if you could just add a few lines about your layout and your current experience level. For example:

.

1. Did it used to be a DC Analogue layout and you are only now trying to move over to DCC? or is it a completely new layout and you are building it as a DCC layout from the outset?
2. Have you other locos besides the Class 20?.....If you do, are any of these DCC decoder fitted?
3. Have you configured and/or operated any locos as DCC models before, using your Elite?
