ColinB
I have just purchased a Hornby Class 66 (have to thanks James May for that sale Hornby), I would like to fit lights to it. I know how to wire it to DCC, I would just like to know if anyone else has done it. I am more interested in the mechanical aspects, like which ones to simulate, cab lights are easy, it is the headlight and tail light that I am more interested in. 96RAF
Just stay within TTS decoder function output current limits as they are not self protecting.
ColinB
I finally completed this. I only added cab lighting and a headlight above the driver. I used 2mm white led for the headlight. When you drive through the existing headlight the plastic molding falls off, I had assumed it was part of the main molding. Anyway using 2mm tower leds, it gives a great effect. The lights on the buffer beam I left. I was going to use DCC Concepts micro Leds but I found that it was too near the joint with the chassis, so I left them alone.
