Scalextric Bentley Gt3

Hi Just bought a brand new Scalextric Bentley continental Gt3 and it's struggling to stay on the track like the magnet is doing nothing, also the car keeps loseing power. The track is clean and all new. its the only car that behaves in this way, really annoying me as I can't see why it's having problems as the magnet is really good and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the motor or wiring, I persume its all down to contact with the track?

Hi Dave,

Here is an older thread discussing various things about the Bentley.

I am guessing you have taken the body off to inspect the wires and everything as these can sometimes cause problems.

Couple of other things to try:

Try unfolding braids so that they trail backwards as opposed to being folded on top of each other as they come out of the bag.

Replace the guide blade with a newer, deeper one. Scalextric made slightly deeper guides a few years ago and the Bentley I think was one that may have been sold with both types of guide blades.

Any stockist with newer stock could provide this.

Otherwise that thread covers a lot of things that can be tried.
