Southern 377

Unfortunately Southern (and other region) fixed formation Electric Multple Unit trains, especially four car units, are not popular with ready to run manufacturers. For one thing they have to be sold as a full set so they tend to be an expensive single item, and therefore unattractive to 'casual' model trailway enthusiasts.  Two coach sets like the 466 Networker, 2Bil, 2Hal etc are easier to sell because they are less expensive as a first cost.

The 4Vep was not a particularly popular item, and Bachmann's 4Cep was eventually heavily discounted .

The 395 Javelin sets, the Eurostar, Pendolino, and InterCity 225 sets seemed to sell better but these are prestige trains and most are extendable so you can add as many or as few trailers as you want. The Brighton Belle is a luxury train and has wider appeal because of that.

Personally I would love to have a Southern Bulleid 4Sub or 4EPB available, but realistically I have given up on this hope and have built my own from kits.
